Kobalt Books was founded in 2003, by Cedric Mixon, as an outlet for inspirational and faith-based stories, inspirational books, all inspirational content, and Spiritual Journals. Kobalt Books is a fully integrated publishing company and broad-based entertainment company in the creation, production, distribution, licensing and marketing of all forms of creative content.
Kobalt Books continues to scout and polish talent who have a story to tell; as well as help build the careers of nearly 20 authors who have already published with Kobalt Books. If an author's book is accepted with Kobalt Books, their book will have the opportunity to take advantage of Kobalt Books' distribution network. The Author's books will be available at thousands of bookstores worldwide and online, including Barnes & Noble, Borders, amazon.com, bn.com, borders.com, etc.
It’s
been over 20 years, on Halloween since the founder of Kobalt Books’ father was
shot 14 times and brutally murdered. Kobalt Books publishes non-fiction books
that are actually true stories. Even the fiction books are inspired by true
events, presenting real
life between the pages for real people.
“The absence of a father affected
the way that I view the world, and the focus for Kobalt Books. Life is not a
fantasy or a dream for me. I have to be able to look myself in the mirror, and
face my own reality”, says Mixon.
Mixon graduated from Tennessee State University
with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, then later an MBA in Marketing.
Mixon also completed screenwriting and creative writing courses from University
of the Arts – Philadelphia. All of Kobalt Books titles are distributed
nationally. Over 20 books later, Kobalt
Books has stayed true to the vision that Mixon had when it all began: Stories
that cry out to our souls, at the same time makes us laugh and cry.
